SUMMARY:An Evening with Aia Vecchia
DESCRIPTION:Join us in welcoming Elia Pellegrini\, the owner of Aia Vecchia in Tuscany\, Italy\, for a four wine\, guided tasting of treasures from Tuscany on Tuesday\, July\, 7\, 2026. \nWHO IS AIA VECCHIA? \nThe Pellegrini family\, Aia Vecchia’s owners\, have been grape growers in the Bolgheri area for\nseveral generations and have sold their grapes to many of the most notable wineries in the\nregion for decades. After replanting their original vineyards in 1995\, the following year they took\nthe plunge and established their own winery with the goal of creating a portfolio of small-lot\,\nhigh-quality Super Tuscan blends focusing on Bordeaux grape varieties. The Pellegrinis also\nlocated and purchased exceptional pieces of land in the Bolgheri DOC of coastal Tuscany\,\nwhich had been shown to be ideal for Bordeaux varieties. \nOn one of the family’s properties there was an old building called Aia Vecchia\, which would\nbecome the symbol and namesake of the company. The family enlisted the help of well-known\nagronomist Daniel Schuster in selecting their plant material\, which was imported directly from\nBordeaux. They also sought out the services of another highly talented consultant-Hungarian\nwinemaker Tibor Gal\, who had been chief winemaker at the pioneering Super Tuscan Ornellaia\nin Bolgheri. \nWHO IS ELIA PELLIGRINI?\nElia Pellegrini is the owner of Aia Vecchia\, a small family-owned winery based in the Bolgheri\nregion of Tuscany\, Italy. Every member of the Pellegrini family has come from this region and\nElia is now the fourth generation of the Pellegrini family working in the wine industry in Bolgheri. \nHaving grown up in the house right next to the family winery\, Elia has always been surrounded\nby viticulture. Wine has been a part of his life since he was a child and he has early memories\nof playing soccer and riding his bike around the tracks that they would use to bring the grapes\ninto the cellar during harvest. Elia studied Linguistics in college and then went on to hold a\nprofessional soccer career with Livorno in Serie A and with Colligiana in Siena and Pergocrema\nin Serie C. Although he had a strong passion for soccer and a promising career\, Elia knew his\npath was obvious and\, as he says it\, “in my veins was wine instead of blood.” In 2011 at the\nage of 22—also after a knee injury—Elia left his teammates and a professional soccer life to\njoin the family business full time. \nToday he is the face of Aia Vecchia and splits his time working at the winery in Bolgheri and\ntraveling often to share his family’s wines with customers and friends throughout the world. \nLight cheese and charcuterie will be served to enhance your experience. \nFeatured wines are offered at a 10% discount for attendees (15% for wine club members!).

SUMMARY:Grapes and Grill: Wine and Barbecue Pairing
DESCRIPTION:Grilling is the one time most people put serious thought into the food — the marinade\, the resting time\, the wood chips — and then grab whatever wine happens to be in the fridge. You can do better\, and it’s easier than you think. \nGrapes and Grill is a hands-on tasting class built entirely around summer cooking. Our founder\, Kat\, will walk through which wines hold up to bold flavors like smoke\, char\, spice\, and rendered fat\, and which ones (sorry\, delicate Pinots) get completely steamrolled. You’ll taste the difference live\, with real food pairings to experiment with each pour. \nNo wine expertise needed — just a genuine love of cooking and eating well. Only 14 seats are available. Grab yours before the weekend crowd does. \n

SUMMARY:Wine and Bites: Mediterranean Cuisine
DESCRIPTION:There is something incredible about the flavors of Mediterranean cooking. \nThe cuisine is famous for its vibrant mix of bright citrus\, punchy garlic\, fresh herbs\, and savory roasted flavors. Finding a wine to balance that lively mix of zest and spice can be a fun challenge\, especially when navigating the between creamy sesame textures\, smoky charred notes\, and crisp\, herb-packed brightness. \nFor August’s Wine and Bites\, we are bringing in Boise favorite Mazzah Mediterranean Grill to show you exactly how it’s done. We’ll taste through some great wines and explore how the right pour can magnify the classic Mediterranean flavors you love.
