French red blends are irresistible. Classic red Bordeaux cuvées are blended primarily from some (or all!) of five main varietals; Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot. In fact, in the Bordeaux region they believe the whole is greater than the parts as single-varietal wines are uncommon in Bordeaux.
To get a better understanding of how these grapes work as a team, we’ll taste single-varietal Bordeaux-native grapes from outstanding non-Bordeaux regions across the world to learn what they bring to the blend. You’ll also get to pair them with light cheese and charcuterie to see how they change with food.
Red wine lovers, this is YOUR tasting! Five wines, all red, and all delicious. What a way to warm up this winter!
