Pinot Noir From Unexpected Places

Due to its thin skin and fickle nature, Pinot Noir – the “heartbreak grape” – was long thought to flourish in Burgundy France, and only in Burgundy France. That paradigm has shifted, and even the most snobbish of Francophiles now must admit that great Pinot Noir can be cultivated and made in Oregon, parts of California, and even New Zealand. But the wine world is a big place, and enterprising vintners all over the globe are trying their hand at Pinot.
Join Wine Guide Jim as we go on a global expedition through five wines to find Pinot Noir in unexpected places. We’ll make stops in South America, where cool climate Pinots can be found in Chile and Argentina, in Australia, where Pinot is thriving in the West (Adelaide) and South (Tasmania), and in Europe, where one can now find beautiful Pinot in Germany and Italy. Let’s find out if it is time for a new region to join the ranks of Pinot Noir royalty!
Light cheese and charcuterie will be provided to pair with the wines.
Featured wines are offered at a 10% discount for attendees (15% for wine club members!).
